Film-Installation, 2022
2 x 16mm-projectors with black and white film, 3D glasses

Synopsis
Loop is a reflection on time and space. This 16mm film installation explores the concept of the endless loop both formally and thematically, employing stereoscopic 3D techniques. The installation consists of two projectors, each projecting a short film loop onto the same surface. A woman rides a bicycle along a figure-eight path—the infinity symbol ∞—creating the illusion of a recording without a discernible beginning or end.
Both projectors show the same footage, but their slightly different playback speeds create an asynchronous effect. This “intentional error” accumulates with each repetition, generating constantly new combinations—an infinite number of unique moments.
Red and blue filters in the projection, combined with special glasses provided to viewers, allow multiple viewing experiences: viewers can watch with the naked eye, or choose to see only the left projection (glasses with red filter), only the right projection (glasses with blue filter), or both projections with a 3D effect.

Presentations
Premiered at the exhibition Kinematographische Positionen at Kunsthalle Leoben, supported by Steirische Kulturinitiative, September 2022.
